The Fernweh-Mobil® - the off-road travel cabin for all pickups
The drop-off cabin from Cramer Technik was developed by travel professional and mechanical engineer Benno Cramer and continuously optimized over many years of off-road use. Today, the Fernweh-Mobil® is a sophisticated and off-road-tested drop-off cabin that can be customized according to personal wishes.
Whether you like drop-off cabins or not is of course always a matter of taste, but there are irrefutable advantages:
- I only saddle up the cab when I'm traveling. Otherwise, I can use my pickup as an everyday vehicle.
- With a pickup, I have a vehicle with maximum off-road capability for every adventure.
- When the vehicle is no longer needed, I can simply replace it with a new pickup and keep the cab.
- I can also use a demountable cabin on leased vehicles, which cannot be structurally modified.
I am a die-hard overlander and have developed and constructed this off-road travel cabin from extremely robust GRP myself and tested it over many years on my off-road trips under extreme conditions.
As we all know, the devil is in the details. And anyone who deals with this subject knows that you can only find out such details in everyday travel and then fine-tune solutions and optimise the product to perfection. With the Fernweh-Mobil®, I offer a fully developed drop-off cabin that I back 100% with my overlander heart and name. We attach great importance to quality and sustainability in production. That's why the Fernweh-Mobil® is manufactured entirely in Germany. As a result, all prospective buyers have the opportunity to visit our production facility and view cabins in various configuration levels.
For which pickup models is the detachable cabin suitable?
The Fernweh-Mobil® can be used variably for all common pickup models and has the unbeatable advantage that the demountable cabin can also be easily attached to any other pickup when changing brands and vehicles. It only takes about fifteen minutes to attach and detach the cab.
The extremely robust GRP shell is absolutely suitable for off-road use and can cope with all requirements thanks to the good weight distribution. A rear ladder, awning, canister holder, sand tray holder, shower tent etc. can be mounted on the outside of the cabin. There is even space for a spare wheel on the roof.
The cozy interior is a space miracle and equipped with everything you need when travelling. Everything is extremely functional and all the furnishing components can be used even when the roof is closed. Even sleeping is possible on the lower level. The customer's personal needs are taken into account during the planning and consultation process, so that every customer can put together their Fernweh-Mobil® according to their own wishes and ideas.
The installation of an optional water treatment system, diesel auxiliary heating, solar system and automatic charge controller ensure the greatest possible independence on the road. On request, we also offer fully equipped complete vehicles in cooperation with our partner companies. We have developed a trailer including motorcycle transport for short trips with our cabin.
