OFFROAD. OVERLANDING. ADVENTURE. ALL ON OLLI.
400,000 people.
One shared world.
Offroad. Overlanding. Outdoor. Adventure.
OLLI is for people who are at home outdoors. Some drive around the world, others simply head out on a Friday evening. In an old Land Cruiser, on a motorbike, in a camper, in a canoe, with a backpack, or wherever the tarmac ends.
Everything they need for that used to be scattered across a lot of places: inspiration and experience here, vehicles there, equipment in specialist shops, trips somewhere else — and people who really know what they are talking about took some finding in the first place.
OLLI brings this world together.
Started in 2014 as 4x4Schweiz, around 400,000 people are connected to OLLI today through our digital channels. Since 2026 the platform carries the name of the idea that was always behind it: One Life. Live It.
Here at OLLI you don't have to circle the globe, quit your job or buy an expedition truck. Adventure can begin in Mongolia or on a Friday evening outside your own front door. We are not interested in how far you get. We are interested in that you get going, and how.
You only have this one life. No later. No someday.
And still we behave, surprisingly often, as if there were an endless number of tries.
Enough talk. Let's look at the people who do it.
You don't always know each other. But you recognise each other.
The OLLI Friends are people who are out there — at their own pace, with their own decisions and their own view of the world. Some for months, some for years, some for decades.
In personal interviews they tell us why they set off, how they travel and what they have learned on the road. With GREETINGS FROM … they take us straight to the places, encounters and moments that are happening right now.
For OLLI they are more than good stories. They bring experience from the real world: with vehicles, equipment, countries, tracks, trips and all the things that work differently out there than they do on paper.
Some are looking. Others are offering. OLLI brings them together.

OLLI connects both sides — with stories, a specialised marketplace and first-hand information.
Everything that counts outdoors.
OLLI is the marketplace for overlanding, offroad vehicles and adventure travel. You will find 4x4s, expedition vehicles and campervans, offroad and camping equipment, outdoor gear, trips, training, guides and services — all in one place.
You can search or offer, buy or sell, private or commercial. For everyone who is at home outdoors.
The story behind the offer.
Anyone who builds, develops or offers something special usually has more to tell than technical data and prices.
In OLLI Spotlights, brands, manufacturers, vehicle builders, workshops, small manufacturers, specialist businesses and travel operators present what they offer: what they do, why they do it, who it is meant for and what makes it special.
For readers that means: first-hand information.
For good providers: finally room for the whole story.
We know offroad. We know good content too.
OLLI is not a media corporation. It never was. In 2014 Sascha Knauer founded 4x4Schweiz. Since then quite a few people have helped build it: writing, photographing, filming, translating, designing, organising, testing, travelling and dragging in ideas.
Andrea, Vesa, Claudia, Aliki, Oliver, Nils, Jürg, Frank, Sybille, Mara, Carsten, Tatjana, Martin, Chris, Phill, Colin, Michael and a few more.
We know this world. And we know content.
Strategy, content architecture, editorial, distribution, SEO and GEO have been part of our work for years — among others for automotive and supplier brands such as:
Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, Continental, Goodyear, Škoda and Toyota.
At OLLI that craft meets experience in offroad, overlanding and adventure, since 2014.
Five questions for the founder.
400,000 people — what does that number really mean?
Around 400,000 people are connected to OLLI today through our digital channels. Over the years, 4x4Schweiz has grown into something pretty big. Some just read along. Others write to us, send pictures and stories, sell their vehicle, plan their next trip or simply take us along for a stretch.
They don't all know each other. They don't all do the same thing. But they share this appetite for being outdoors, being on the move and discovering things. 400,000 people. One shared world. For me that is the finest meaning of this number.
Why isn't OLLI simply a marketplace. Or a magazine?
Because OLLI is both. One leads to the other. You read a story about someone driving across Africa and want to know what they are travelling in. You discover an expedition vehicle and want to know who builds it. You plan a trip and suddenly need training or equipment.
Looking for inspiration in one place and for the things you need in another has never made sense to me.
And where do OLLI Spotlights fit in?
An OLLI Spotlight is an editorial piece in which a brand tells its own story: what it does, why and for whom. Manufacturers, small workshops, vehicle builders and travel operators know more about their products and their world than anyone else. That knowledge is exactly what interests us.
OLLI Spotlights give them the stage to tell it themselves: what they do, why they do it and who it is for. For the editorial work, optimisation and publication we charge a fee. This is clearly labelled. What comes out of it should above all be one thing: real, usable first-hand information. Not flat advertising. We watch out for that.
What does something need to belong on OLLI?
It has to fit our world and be interesting to the people in it.
That can be a 300,000-euro expedition vehicle. A 40-year-old Toyota. A small workshop. A big brand. A trip. A piece of equipment. Or someone driving around the world in something completely absurd.
We are not interested in the biggest, most expensive or loudest stories. We are interested in the ones where there is a good reason to look closer. Big is not a category. Interesting is.
Where should OLLI go?
OLLI should be the place you think of first when you are planning something outdoors. When you are looking for a vehicle. Equipment. A trip. Training. Someone with experience. Or simply a story that has you opening Google Maps.
I want you to discover things and people on OLLI that you were not even looking for. And for something to come of it. An idea. A trip. A new project. Maybe just a weekend outdoors.
And if one day you say: “I found that on OLLI.”
… and then do something with it, we will have got quite a lot right.
