Sounds like a compromise, but it works surprisingly well.
Jeep Avenger 4xe driving modes - traction when you need it
The Avenger 4xe usually drives with front-wheel drive in everyday use - efficient and unobtrusive. In Auto mode, the rear axle is only activated when necessary, for example in wet conditions or when slipping. In Snow, Sand & Mud mode, the focus is on traction: up to 30 km/h, both axles work in a 50:50 ratio. Sport provides additional power from the rear axle when moving off. And best of all: thanks to "Power Looping", the rear electric motor remains ready for use even if the battery is empty - the front electric motor recharges automatically.
