Once a year, Jeep Switzerland organizes the Jeep Offroad Days in Hinwil for all Jeep owners - and those who want to become one. At these Offroad Days, Jeep wants to show that its Wranglers - whether Sahara or Rubicon - can do much more than just "dirt tracks". Together with the TCS, Jeep has set up a breathtaking off-road course on the two TCS training grounds in Hinwil and Lignières: the Jeep Territories.
For those who are not brave enough to take on this course in their own Jeep, Jeep provides the latest models free of charge. However, we would recommend that everyone takes part with their own Jeep. This is the only way to get to know the functions and capabilities of your Jeep under the expert guidance of TCS instructors and to adjust your popometer to your own car.
But now back to the event: get in, buckle up, shift the reduction gear into "4-Low" and off you go. The voice of instructor Claudia sounds from the walkie-talkie as she skillfully guides the participants through the course, responding with great sensitivity to the different driving skills of the individual participants. She manages to ensure that the experienced Jeepers don't get bored and the complete rookies don't feel overwhelmed. A compliment at this point!
"Can my Jeep really do that?????"
Your breath catches when you have the "wall" in front of you with a 100 percent gradient and you boldly drive towards the sky. Just before Peter opens the door, the hood returns to a horizontal position and you feel like Reinhold Messner on an eight-thousander.
It's breathtaking and a rollercoaster of emotions, because as we all know, after every high comes a low. Hold your breath, trust the instructor, take your foot off the accelerator and brakes and slowly the hood descends and gravity pushes you into the harness. Made it?! Think again, just arrived at the bottom and proud as Harry, it's on to the next spectacular obstacle and the next test of courage.
