We are Dream Overland – a specialised overland and off-road travel company based in Portugal. Our mission is to give travellers access to the authentic, wild and lesser-known side of the country: along dirt tracks, through natural parks, past remote coastlines and into regions that are difficult to reach without true local expertise.

Behind Dream Overland is José Almeida – owner, lead guide and the creative force behind the project. José combines decades of off-road experience with deep local knowledge and a clear commitment to responsible travel. He knows Portugal’s tracks, landscapes and local particularities not from maps, but from thousands of real kilometres driven. This expertise flows directly into every single route we design.

We create guided, self-guided and fully customised overland tours for solo travellers, couples and small groups. Each journey is planned individually and tailored to driving skills, vehicle type, personal interests and the desired level of adventure.

Our strength lies in the combination of genuine off-road competence, strong local roots and personal support. We do not work with standardised programmes, but with living routes that are continuously refined and evolved. Whether classic overlanding, photography journeys or themed expeditions – we create experiences that do not come from a catalogue, but from real-world exploration.

Dream Overland stands for adventure with substance: thoughtfully planned, safely executed and guided by respect for the land, its people and nature. Our tours operate exclusively on authorised routes, and we hold the necessary accreditations for selected protected areas.
