DESCRIPTION
The Mitsubishi L200 is a robust 4×4 pick-up with a custom-built cabin. As it is a one-and-a-half cab, there is also practical space in the front for a dog, table, chairs or other luggage in addition to the driver and front passenger.
For better visibility in the dark or in bad weather, a powerful high beam and additional LED lights have been installed on both sides. A custom-made bull catcher is also fitted.
The centerpiece is the living cabin made of GRP materials with a hydraulic lifting roof. While driving, the roof remains down, keeping the vehicle compact. When stationary, the roof can be raised and then offers pleasant space in the interior.
The vehicle is used, has been used for traveling and has corresponding signs of wear. It is not a perfectly restored collector's vehicle, but an honest, used touring base with lots of character and potential.
CONDITION VEHICLE / TECHNOLOGY
In our opinion, the engine makes a good impression. The vehicle has been serviced and reliably supplied with oil. The brakes were recently replaced.
Nevertheless, there are a few points that should be taken into account. The vehicle should be prepared for the MFK/TÜV. There are certainly issues that need to be looked at, partly due to the equipment and what is currently installed or carried. Inspection certificate will be shown on request.
A major timing belt service should be due soon. The clutch could probably also become an issue in the foreseeable future. The spare wheel is available, but would have to be repaired as the valve is defective. The tires will last for another 20,000 kilometers or so
There are minor repairs at the front, for example to the rear-view mirror. The radio reception is also currently faulty. Otherwise, the vehicle is used due to its age and use, but from our point of view it has a solid basis.
CONDITION OF THE CABIN
The cabin has been used for traveling and shows normal signs of use and wear. The interior fittings are used and visibly worn, but are basically functional.
The cabin is watertight and it has never rained in. However, there is visible damage in the upper right-hand area, which can also be seen in one of the pictures. The damage does not affect the functionality of the lifting system. Despite the damage, we were traveling in temperatures of -18 degrees in Sweden and it was warm enough in the cabin with the existing heating.
HEATING, WATER, ELECTRICITY AND TECHNOLOGY
There is a heating system, but it doesn't always run reliably. If a perfectly functioning heating system is important to you, you should have it checked or adjusted.
The water tank and pipes work. The pipes have been checked or reconnected. The external power connection works, as does the solar system. The lights and the existing electrical functions also work perfectly.
The toilet cassette needs to be replaced. It is a normal Thetford cassette.
INTERIOR FITTINGS AND EQUIPMENT
A stove is not permanently installed and is not included in the sale. We have always used a separate gasoline stove. This would have to be purchased new if required. There are no fixed gas installations.
The windows could be replaced on occasion if you want to further optimize the cabin. Otherwise, there are mainly minor points and normal signs of use.
OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES
Additional accessories are available as an option. These include a high-quality Fanello mattress with integrated slatted frame. The mattress is approx. 3 to 4 years old, has not been used very often and is in good condition.
Maxtrax, deckchairs, a camping table and smaller camping utensils are also optionally available. The accessories can be discussed and taken over separately depending on interest.
CURRENT STATUS / FOR SALE EX WORKS
The vehicle is currently located in Switzerland in 9436 Balgach and can be viewed by appointment.
The sale is ex works. It is no longer worthwhile for us to have the defects repaired, as we currently have a space problem and will unfortunately no longer be using the vehicle. However, it is important to us to be transparent: there is work that needs to be done, especially with regard to the MFK, the timing belt service, minor repairs and certain optimizations to the cab.
At the same time, it is not a vehicle that should simply "go". There is a lot of history, travel feeling and potential in it. We would be delighted if someone were interested in taking the vehicle on, fixing it up and getting it back on the road.
SUMMARY
The Mitsubishi L200 with lift cab is an honest, used travel base with a lot of character. It is not perfect and there is work to be done that should be planned for. In return, you get a rare, compact and already equipped 4×4 touring vehicle with a functioning water and electricity system, solar system, practical interior fittings and lots of potential.
The vehicle is ideal for someone who is not simply looking for a finished high-gloss motorhome, but a special touring vehicle with substance, history and possibilities. If you have some craftsmanship or are prepared to have certain points done, this is a very exciting base.
A good succession is important to us, but at the same time we don't want to sell the vehicle below value.
If you are interested, please get in touch with a few lines about yourself and two short sentences about how you would like to use the vehicle. It is important to us that the camper comes into good hands and continues to be used.
Viewing is possible by arrangement.
