Description
As we have to get back to work in the next few years and won't be able to travel much, we are selling our Steyr Expeditionmobile with a heavy heart. Among other things, we traveled the Panamericana with it for 18 months. Through sandy deserts and up to almost 5000 m altitude, it has never let us down and is ready for a new adventure.
Equipment:
- Steyr 10S18 from 1993 with 6.6l inline six-cylinder engine with 180 hp (one of the last without electronics intervening in the engine), 197,000 km on the clock
- From MFK without complaint, the vehicle is mechanically in good condition
- Very good transmission for off-road (rear and center differential locks) and on the highway at 90 km/h approx. 1500 rpm.
- Approved total weight 9500 kg, unladen weight according to vehicle registration 7250 kg, ready to travel weight around 8500 kg.
- 365/80R20 MPT tubeless tires with snap ring rims and spare wheel under the cabin
- Approved seating 6, sleeping 3-4
- 430 liter diesel tank and therefore just under 2000 km range, separate diesel filter
- Cabin is an aluminum sandwich construction that was professionally and solidly built by a carpenter with many cabinets and storage space.
- The vehicle and the cabin were ordered new and converted by our predecessor, so we are only the 2nd hand.
- The complete technology in the cabin is from 2018, Kissmann 135 liter compressor refrigerator, Elgena hot water boiler (heated by engine cooling water while driving or with 24 V heating rod), Eberspächer diesel heater (there is also a gas heater), sine wave inverter 2000W
- 6 x 75 Ah 12V Optima tile batteries gives 225 Ah at 24V battery capacity
- 5 x 110W solar panel (plus one solar panel if roof box is fitted) and therefore very self-sufficient
- 1 x approx. 200 liter water tank and 1x approx. 100 liter water tank (no longer needed as it leaks).
- There are also many accessories such as tow bar, sand plates, Vetter lifting bags, bicycle carrier, 2 tires, etc.
The Steyr shows signs of wear but is in good condition and has proven itself very well on long journeys and off-road.
