Mercedes-Benz is reviving the golden era of the G-Class - with a special edition that not only looks like 1980, but also feels like it: the G-Class STRONGER THAN THE 1980s comes in a strictly limited edition (460 units worldwide) and pays homage to the iconic W 460 model series with authentic colors, nostalgic details and genuine hardware.
The G-Class STRONGER THAN THE 1980s is a limited special edition with 80s flair, off-road DNA and plenty of character
All-terrain tires, mud flaps, stone guard and three differential locks: this G is not a collector's item for the garage - but ready for mud, rocks and scree. Under the hood: either the refined diesel (G 450 d) or the powerful V8 in the G 500, both with genuine off-road pedigree.
Painted in MANUFAKTUR Agave Green, Cream White or Colorado Beige, combined with black add-on parts and orange indicators. Plus: silver 5-spoke rims, the historic Mercedes emblem on the hood and - a real treat - an 80s-style spare wheel cover.
The seats have inserts in the iconic dove gray fabric. The grab handle on the passenger side bears the words "STRONGER THAN THE 1980s", while the door sill trims show the topography of the Styrian test mountain Schöckl. And on the center console? "1 of 460" - for all those who want to know what they are driving.
Did you know? Every G-Class has had to climb the Schöckl, the 1,445 m high local mountain of Graz, since 1979. The 5.6 km long test track with a gradient of up to 60% is considered the toughest off-road test site in the world. If a model does not pass the Schöckl - it does not become a G.
