From the Zurich man who drives his old Citroëns to the ends of the earth

While others polish classic cars to a shine, Thomas Neeser simply drives off. Not to the meeting. Not to the exhibition. But to the end of the road.

His vehicles are old. Very old.

Citroën C4 from 1932, Traction Avant 11B from 1953, 2CV with more kilometers than some new cars see in a lifetime. But they are not stationary. They are alive.

What is a barn find for others is the beginning of a new chapter for him. Every screw is dismantled, repaired and rethought - not for perfection, but for resilience. Because these cars are not meant to please. They should work.

With the C4, he drives 7,000 kilometers to the Atlantic and Corsica with his family, motorcycle and tent on the roof. Not on highways, but on back roads, passes, gravel and dust. He spends the night where the day ends

"It doesn't matter how long it takes. It took us four hours to cover twelve kilometers. But we learned that a long ride doesn't have to feel long!"

The Traction Avant is its statement.

Front-wheel drive, self-supporting body, low center of gravity - decades ahead of its time. And today? With a roof rack, tent and tools, Thomas drives it through rocky deserts, over scree, to places where only modern off-roaders are expected.

He doesn't call it an expedition.
He calls it driving.

"I always try to take the narrowest and most direct route on the map. White and gray lines mostly!"

On the way, he screws, cooks, sleeps and rides on. Sometimes he restores a Velosolex by the roadside. Sometimes he collects garbage from beaches before setting up camp.

Clean Up The World is emblazoned on the roof.
Not as a message. As an attitude.

"I had dismantled the Citroën down to the last screw and rebuilt it slightly optimized with full patina preservation ... except for the clutch - my own mistake - it's great for traveling!"

Thomas Neeser is not a romantic. He is a doer. Someone who shows that adventure doesn't need horsepower - but courage, time and respect for the material.

Driving old Citroëns to the ends of the earth?
For him, it's not a crazy idea.
It's simply the most logical way.
