Description

After much consideration, we (born in 1963 and 1966) have decided to sell our beloved touring vehicle, as we are no longer prepared to embark on adventurous long-term trips due to our willingness to take risks and our health conditions, but are instead aiming for shorter and more comfortable trips.

We are therefore offering the buyer the opportunity to acquire an expedition vehicle that is ready to travel, in which a lot of experience (and work) has been put into the conversion and equipment in order to fulfill their long-distance travel dream. (Tours: www.polarsteps.com/reiseziit)

_Iveco-front-open: Opening of the roof by air pressure supports at the push of a button, supported by gas pressure dampers

_Iveco-left-open: the air pressure support is vertical at the front of the roof, with the gas pressure damper behind it at an angle. The piping strips above the cab window and on the lifting roof are clearly visible. An outer tarpaulin can be pulled in here for both sides in very adverse weather (constant rain, cold).

_Iveco-rear-left-open: recognizable, the large roof hatch and mounting points for the 6th tire. Below the large rear window (exit for container loading) there is a cross strut that can be raised from the outside to close the rear window.

_Iveco access cab: access to the living area is through the rear door of the crew cab on the passenger side. Therefore only original doors of the Iveco Daily.

_Iveco entrance area-living area: in the entrance area you can sit on the toolbox or the built-in toilet (emergency seat) to take off your shoes

_Iveco living cabin open: when open, the cabin has standing height up to the bed / dining table

_Iveco-living-cabin-view-to-the-rear: the bed (140x205) can be converted into a dining table, which also seats 6 people

_Iveco-living-cabin-view-to-the-front: The tarpaulin of the lifting roof has three large windows with mosquito nets (all without damage), for perfect ventilation in warm areas. In addition, the large roof hatch can be opened (mosquito net must be attached manually with Velcro).

_Iveco-cabin-opened-co-driver's side: For cold regions, additional padding/insulation is attached to the outer walls with magnets.

_Iveco-cab-opened-driver's-side: clearly visible, the orange tension belts with which the closed roof is secured during the journey

_Iveco emergency seat - toilet - outside cupboard - entrance area - driver's side: above the toilet / emergency seat is the large door to the outside cupboard, which can also be accessed from the outside through the rear door on the driver's side. There is space here for a roller table, tarps, cable reel, waste water canister, shovel, axe, second gas bottle, etc.

_Iveco toilet: there is a Porta-Potti under the emergency seat, which is not permanently installed and can be replaced. The orange curtain can be opened to provide privacy from the windshield.

_Iveco tall cupboard 4 & gas compartment driver's side: the cupboard door of tall cupboard 4 can be locked. The floor of the lowest compartment can be opened. The connected 5 kg gas cylinder is stowed underneath.

_Iveco tall cupboard 2 driver's side: general storage space

_Iveco-upper-part-cabinet-2-driver's-side: the compartment is well suited for kitchen utensils. To the left of the door are the controls for the diesel auxiliary heating (top left), the lever for opening and lowering the roof, buttons for compressed air (for opening the roof) and for the water pump (sink)

_Iveco kitchen block with 2 drawers on the driver's side: there are two very spacious drawers under the sink and the gas stove, which can be pulled out completely.

_Iveco-kitchen-block-compartments-bottom-with-water-tank-1-driver's-side: On the right is a technical compartment containing the hot water boiler (heat exchanger with waste engine heat) and the 50-liter fresh water tank 1. The tank can be illuminated by the diesel parking heater in winter. The Shurflo water pump is located above the tank.

The compartment on the left is a storage compartment for kitchen utensils and is filled with custom-made boxes. The water system is mounted behind the boxes (Katadyn filter, pressure equalization tank can be removed with quick-release fasteners).

_Iveco storage compartments - rear driver's side - open: We mainly have our clothing in these three compartments.

_Iveco storage compartment rear center: we use the center compartment for snorkeling equipment, hammock, etc.

_Iveco-storage-under-bed-table: The bed is also the seating area. The seat cushions (6 cm closed-pore) are divided so that the table can be set up quickly and are hard enough to sit on comfortably. We sleep on Therma rest mats. This provides excellent downward insulation (even in Iceland we only slept with a down comforter) and there is no condensation as with a mattress. Top left: 12 V and 220 V connections

_Iveco-compartments-rear-passenger-side-closed: This is what the compartments look like when closed. Also easy to recognize: Color and sections of the seat upholstery.

_Iveco storage compartments-rear-passenger side-open: General storage compartments. The middle compartment contains supplies as well as other tools and parts for the Iveco.

_Iveco electrical compartment passenger side: The front-most storage compartment on the passenger side at the rear houses the on-board electrics. In addition to two 110 A HDC12-100 deep cycle supply batteries, there are two Votronic charging converters, the solar module, the fuses and a voltage converter to 220 V with 700 W peak load. There is space for spare electrical parts in the small drawer.

_Iveco refrigerator passenger side: 40 liter compressor refrigerator from Waeco with very quiet ventilation

_Iveco storage compartment under fridge passenger side: compartment with three custom-made boxes for supplies under the fridge.

_Iveco-drawer-next-to-refrigerator-passenger-side: drawer for additional kitchen utensils (e.g. spices).

_Iveco storage compartment next to fridge passenger side: General storage compartment with two levels.

_Iveco-tall-cupboard-3-with-water-tank-2-passenger-side: Cupboard with three levels, the lowest of which is mainly filled by water tank 2 (also 50 liters). In the background you can see the silver cylinder of the air pressure supports used to open the roof.

_Iveco view of the entrance area from the rear: clearly visible: two of the three 2 kg fire extinguishers

_Iveco-entrance-area-with-camping-chairs-passenger-side: easy to reach from the outside, camping chairs, umbrella, tarp poles and "canopy" for the entrance. (The canopy is a small tarpaulin that can be stretched over the entrance door to the rear when it rains).

_Iveco tool compartment in the passenger side entrance area: The compartment not only serves as a seat when getting in, but also stores all heavy tools and is easily accessible from the outside. Two waterproof pockets are attached to the two metal profiles in the door trim, in which books etc. can be stored.

_Iveco front seats with storage boxes: There is space for 2 Rako boxes between the driver and front passenger seats as storage space (drinks, photos, etc.). The sheepskin covers have been on the seats since our first journey.

_Iveco driver's seat: comfortable swivel seat. Gearshift 6 gears plus R, lever green: split gearbox 1:1.3, e.g. off-road or mountain driving, red lever: reduction gearbox equal to 24 gears forward, 4 gears reverse

_Iveco co-driver's seat: comfortable swivel seat, a total of three 12 volt connections within reach

_Iveco co-driver's entrance: the third 2 kg fire extinguisher is clearly visible

_Iveco-view-under-the-bonnet: everything is true to the original, except for the raised axle ventilation (to the right of the brake fluid reservoir). The mudguard on the passenger side can be quickly removed and replaced with a spare mudguard with snorkel.

_Iveco entrance driver: The raised foot mat is individual and can be traced back to my hip problems.

_Iveco-door-double-cab_driver's-side-outside-cabinet: The rear door of the double cab serves as an externally accessible storage space on the driver's side with room for a roller table, power cable, etc. and a second gas bottle.

_Iveco detail diesel heater: Eberspächer diesel heater with 4 KW output, to the left of which is an external connection for the air compressor

_Iveco detail dashboard: the three differential locks for the central lock, rear axle and front axle are clearly visible (only engage when off-road)

_Iveco-Detail-Compressor-behind-driver's-seat: behind the driver's seat is a small compartment with the Viair 494C air compressor. The compartment also offers space for light spare parts, such as hoses.

_Iveco-detail-external-locks-4-piece: All doors of the double cab are additionally secured by an external Abus lock. The locks are difficult to pick and clearly visible to deter potential perpetrators, as it is not possible to escape quickly through the doors if access is gained through the windows.

_Iveco detail interior locks 2-piece: additional Abus locks are fitted on the inside of the rear doors to ensure that all doors are double-locked, even at night when you are lying in the vehicle and the outer Abus lock cannot be locked after entering.

_Iveco roof tent detail: The roof tent is still in good condition, but needs to be impregnated periodically. All windows are fully protected with mosquito nets. The tent fabric, mosquito nets and zippers are immaculate.

_Iveco roof tent light foxing stains: The only exception are light foxing stains in the lower area of the front of the tent.

_Iveco engine protection front axle: Original underride guard from Iveco. The bumper (black) is made of metal and is quite solid. There is no need for a bullbar.

_Iveco underride guard driver's side: with main tank and spare wheel

_Iveco-detail-intermediate gearbox-new-separator-filter: clearly visible, the new intermediate gearbox at km 60'000. The separator filter with water separator is hidden under a PET bottle to protect it.

_Iveco rear axle: The vehicle is always parked in a garage/hall. No winter operation / salt. However, the stone chips from the Iceland tours have left their mark, especially as we have not done any high-pressure cleaning of the chassis due to the cavity sealing.

_Iveco rear axle: The rubber guides of the stabilizers were replaced the day after the pictures were taken. The additional tank hangs in the frame just in front of the rear axle.

_Iveco additional tank detail: The tank is built around the drive shaft.

_Iveco-detail-compartments-under-rear-2-piece: There are two additional storage compartments under the rear for charcoal or firewood or similar. The compartments are not dirt or waterproof.

_Iveco additional tank detail: Additional tank labeling

_Iveco underside passenger side: the rust on the rear exhaust has not been a problem so far. The position of the telescopic ladder, which is attached to the chassis, can be seen in the top left corner of the picture.

_Iveco gearbox: the gearbox is original, but the gearbox housing had to be replaced after a service at Iveco because an apprentice overtightened the drain plug (conical) and caused a crack.

_Iveco front axle: View under the chassis in the direction of travel. Top left: Diesel pump and connections to the auxiliary heating.

_Iveco front axle: View under the oil pan. Here, too, the rubber rods were replaced the day after the pictures were taken.

_Iveco-rear-right-open: For the sake of completeness, the pictures from the passenger side.

_Iveco-detail-bicycle-rack-sand-plates: Four Därr aluminum sand plates are mounted in the rear slope. The bicycle carrier sits on a trailer coupling, which is mounted on the wide aluminum plate (no MFK/TÜV for trailer operation). The lower supports and the fixation against the cross tube above the rear window keep the bikes still in position even on rough terrain.

_Iveco right: the telescopic ladder can be seen below the entrance to the cab.

_Iveco-cab closed: When closed, the living cabin only has an interior height of 148 cm. However, this is sufficient for sleeping in the closed vehicle. Cooking is also possible if the roof hatch above the kitchen is opened.

_Iveco-roof-with-solar-and-transport-rails: View of the vehicle roof from above. You can climb onto the closed roof through the roof hatch. From the outside only with a ladder. The roof hatch can be set up in the following positions: 5 cm (ventilation), 30 cm (standing height at the kitchen block), full opening (exit, photo hatch).

_Iveco-front-right: One last photo from the front

_Iveco accessory tires: In addition to the sixth Sava Orjak (from right: tire 1), there are the six Michelin 9.00 R16 XZL (5 of which are on original rims) to go with the vehicle (tires 2 to 6). The additional five Michelin 9.00 R16 XZL tires can also be taken along free of charge.
