MORRFlate Air Hub – Automatic Tire Deflation for Off-Road and Overlanding

MORRFlate Air Hub – Automatic Tire Deflation for Off-Road and Overlanding

In 2016, we found ourselves exactly where many off-roaders end up sooner or later: somewhere between dust, air compressors, tire pressure gauges, and the question of why tire management still has to be such a hassle. Constantly running around the vehicle, deflating tires one by one, pumping them back up, kneeling next to the vehicle, and losing valuable time—all while you really just want to be on the road.

On top of that, there were burst hoses, damaged fittings, worn-out valves, and components that simply didn’t deliver what they promised out in the field. That’s exactly why we started developing our own systems—built to be more robust, simpler, and consistently designed for real off-road use.

“We didn’t want to develop just another gadget. We wanted to finally build a system that really works outdoors and makes life easier for off-roaders.”

That idea gave rise to MORRFlate in Northern California.

Today, we develop complete multi-tire inflation and deflation systems for off-roaders, overlanders, and everyone who doesn’t just own a vehicle but actually uses it outdoors—on trails, in the desert, on dirt roads, or anywhere far from paved roads.

With the new MORRFlate Air Hub AutoMagic Digital Air Controller, we wanted to make tire management even easier. The goal was to create a system that automates the entire process of deflating and refilling tires while remaining rugged, flexible, and fully trail-ready.

The desired tire pressure can be set directly via the digital display—from 0.1 to 8.6 bar (2–125 PSI). The Air Hub then automatically takes care of the rest. The system stops automatically at the defined air pressure—both when deflating before hitting the trail and when refilling after the ride.

Especially with large tires, longer trips, or frequently changing terrain, this makes a difference you’ll notice after the very first use. Less effort. Less fiddling. Less time spent next to the vehicle. Instead, more time doing what you set out to do in the first place.

Why Inflating Tires Often Takes Much Longer Than Necessary

Many off-roaders believe their compressor is too slow. In reality, the problem often lies elsewhere entirely: with the classic Schrader valve in the tire. These small valves were never originally designed to allow large volumes of air to pass through as quickly as possible. Even high-performance off-road compressors with an airflow rate of over 280 liters per minute (10 CFM) often have to force their entire output through a single small valve opening, which realistically can only handle about 55–70 liters per minute (approx. 2 CFM). That is exactly where the real bottleneck occurs.

The result is increased back pressure, higher temperatures in the compressor, longer inflation times, and unnecessary strain on the entire system. In addition, many conventional air chucks do not fully open the valve in the tire, thereby further reducing air flow. This is precisely why we consistently rely on multi-tire inflation systems. Instead of inflating one tire after another, the air flow is distributed across multiple tires simultaneously. This significantly reduces the resistance per valve, allowing the compressor to operate much more efficiently.

In practice, this means:

  • faster inflation
  • less strain on the compressor
  • less heat generation
  • more consistent tire pressures
  • less waiting time after the trail

Or to put it simply: It’s usually not the compressor that’s the problem—it’s the way the air is routed through the system.

The Air Hub was deliberately designed to be modular and works with both single-tire and complete multi-tire systems. Existing MORRFlate tube kits can be easily integrated via retrofit solutions, and the system remains flexible when it comes to air sources as well. The Air Hub works with virtually all air systems featuring corresponding 1/4-inch fittings (1/4″ fittings).

Technically, the system offers everything we would expect for outdoor use:

  • automatic inflation and deflation
  • digitally adjustable pressure settings from 0.1–8.6 bar (2–125 PSI)
  • storable pressure settings
  • high-contrast backlit display
  • audible and visual completion alerts
  • High-flow solenoids for maximum air flow
  • Integrated lithium battery with USB-C
  • Rugged protective bumpers for off-road use
  • Sturdy hard case with EVA foam
  • Portable design without permanent installation

“The Air Hub was designed for people who don’t just use their vehicle to commute to work, but who regularly head out into the great outdoors—on trips, on trails, and far from paved roads.”

But it has always been clear to us that MORRFlate should be more than just a manufacturer of off-road accessories.

Since our founding, we have actively supported the preservation of public trails and off-road areas in the U.S. To date, we have donated over $149,000 to trail projects, advocacy groups, and community initiatives, and we also participate directly in maintenance work on trails such as the Rubicon Trail, the Fordyce Creek Trail, and the Barrett Lake Trail in Northern California.

Because that’s exactly where MORRFlate originally came from: out in the middle of the dust, among tools, vehicles, and people who’d rather spend their time on the trail than unnecessarily long periods next to their tires.

Anyone who regularly rides with reduced tire pressure knows how much time and energy is wasted with traditional air-down methods. That’s exactly where the MORRFlate Air Hub comes in—with a system that makes tire management on the go faster, more precise, and significantly more relaxed.
